David Spence

Architect David Spence is a founding partner of SHH and Company Chairman.  He acts as client director on all residential projects in the studio and is responsible for the smooth running of all jobs in the studio on a day to day basis.

David has over 30 years of experience in designing, building and refurbishing residential schemes, from ultra high-end one-off homes to mass housing projects, but his CV also encapsulates everything from offices to hotels and airports.  David also holds an ACIOB qualification, making him one of a rare breed who genuinely understands all the processes involved in both architecture and building.

Key projects include the RIBA Manser Medal finalist project Pilgrim's Lane; the Parkcity hotel (transforming a two star, 96-room hotel into a £10m, four star, 64-room luxury hotel), winner of a Commercial Architecture Award and new-build house View Road, winner of the 2010 Best Eco House award.
