McDonald’s Oxford Street scooped its fifth UK design accolade of 2004 on the 2nd of this month at the inaugural idFX / BIDA Awards 2004, held at Chelsea Harbour by idFX Magazine in conjunction with the BIDA (British Interior Design Association). The project won in the wide-ranging ‘Best Commercial Project’ category against retail projects such as Hussein Chalayan’s Tokyo store by Block Architecture and leisure projects such as The Grove by Fox Linton Associates. Judges for the awards, presented by Jasper Conran, included Amanda Levete of Future Systems and designer and Habitat design supremo Tom Dixon.
