A scheme for Banner Homes by architect SHH has just been awarded planning permission by Barnet Council. The scheme is to convert Grade II-listed Consolata College in Totteridge, north London, into luxury apartments, with a new-build extension housing further luxury housing and replacing the current 1960s extension to the building, which will be demolished. Consolata College, a former convent which was latterly used as a missionary college, will house four new luxury flats (ranging from 1831 sq ft to 2430 sq ft), whilst the three-level new-build block directly adjacent to it will house a 1348 sq ft 2-bed apartment on the ground floor, a 1610 sq ft 3-bed terraced house on the end of the block and a luxury double-storey 2604 sq ft penthouse on the building’s second and third floors.

Meanwhile, back in the UK, Kyoto restaurant Umu, on London’s Bruton Place (for the Marlon Abela Restaurant Corporation), has just been awarded its first Michelin star, awarded within six months of the restaurant opening.
