After being invited by The Sorrell Foundation to work with pupils of The Acland Burghley School in north London to create concepts to replace their existing run-down cafeteria area with a series of flexible spaces for snacking and slower dining, as well as providing a new gaming and internet area and creating all-weather usage of the school’s garden area, SHH were given the go-ahead to complete the project thanks to funding from the school, local borough and central government. The result – The Hub – creates zones for snacking, dining and IT, as well as a series of cool outdoor 'pods' for external use. The new facility was opened by Sarah Brown, wife of the Chancellor Gordon Brown.
